Our Venue
Holwell is an old farmstead steeped in history and character.
The site comprises of accommodation for 18 in a Devon farmhouse with 7 guest bedrooms, large kitchen, dining room and retreat lounge. An eco-converted barn houses a wellness centre complete with underfloor-heated yoga studio, treatment room, and facilitator accommodation. A second facilitator room in the courtyard. An art barn for workshops, a sauna garden, and 5 acres of wonderful land to wander including a nature conservation woodland and stone circle.
The Farmhouse
A Devon farmhouse, imbued over the years with character and warmth. A rustic and artistic space, owing to the interesting history it has, you can read more about it here.
The Shala
The primary area for training and workshops is a warm studio with underfloor heating located in the renovated eco wellness barn. The studio is peaceful and equipped for hosting yoga, movement, and meditation sessions. It can accommodate up to fifteen participants in a cosy setting or twelve with more space between mats.
Accomodation
The accommodation here at Holwell is beautifully styled, comfortable, and down to earth with relaxing views from each of the rooms. We sleep 18 in total, with 7 guest rooms in the farmhouse, a single room in the yoga center, and a room in the courtyard.
The Art Barn
A beautiful open space for use as an alternative workshop space to the yoga studio, with its concrete floor and large windows it lends itself to artist workshops, music concerts, dance, and indoor fire circles around the woodburner.
Wellness Center
Our mission is to provide a thoroughly relaxing and restorative experience where all aspects of wellbeing have been considered and you are in the capable hands of an experienced and intuitive therapist. We provide a wonderful selection of holistic treatments for during your stay.
Sauna Garden
Set in a walled garden looking out over the rolling countryside, our woodfired sauna is complete with cold indoor and outdoor showers for the ultimate thermal experience. Take your seat around the firepit and feel in touch with nature as you experience simplistic elemental healing.
The Grounds
Holwell is set in a hollow of 5 acres of Devonshire countryside, with only fields of neighbouring farms surrounding us, there’s not another house or road in sight. There is a conservation woodland, an organic vegetable garden, a stone circle, and an open orchard to wander.
